Art of Being Yourself

Being yourself is something that not everyone can handle.

When people are pushing you to publish one of the four to eight novels in your notebooks but you don't have the editing time for those first drafts despite wanting publication too?

When you are only writing 500 words a day for only a few days a month?

When you want to attend college but can't keep up with the course because you can process all the information but they don't give you enough time to absorb it? To truly learn the material?

What if you were yourself? What if all of this was okay? It should be, right?

If we were free to fully spend time on the things we enjoy and learn what we want to learn or to get actual time to actually learn what we are taking courses in...it would certainly make a difference. We would have informed professionals out in the world instead of people who panic when they try to remember something from class several years back that they were only given a day or two to learn about.

Education

The education system is getting sadder and I don't know how we're expected to remember what wasn't taught properly or spent enough time on the first time.

In school, we remember they spent an entire year teaching us a course. Well, not summer . In college, it's different. Your entire course crammed into a semester. Your reading due the very next day and the assignment. A single late quiz due before the material has time to be read and understood. It's a terrifying thought. Not everyone reads at the same speed. Not everyone learns at the same speed. I'm not saying deadlines are terrible, they can help with structure. But make timelines realistic again.

What's your take on speed culture?

Do you find deadlines are becoming unreasonable?

I'd be interested to know about it.
