I've always been interested in the idea of writing stories where they take place in another world. Places you can get to through a portal.

Places that are full of connection, action, going on adventures, chaos, villians, and heros. Then connecting them to the actual world that we know. The feeling that everything is normal but then suddenly you walk into somewhere completely different. Then that's what occupies your mind. And that's what makes you or what breaks you.

What type of entryway into the other world can be very interesting to come up with. Can have them merely step through a doorway, can have them go through a round circle in midair, or transporting anyway that involves an entry point. Whatever way you decide can impact the story in front of it with the theme of the story itself.

Where did this new affection for entering into other worlds start?

I guess it really comes from when I started reading such things like portal Fantasy. My favorite childhood stories such as "The chronicles of Narnia". Reading about the characters going into a new environment simply by walking through a doorway added to the magic of the story. That at the drop of a hat anything could happen.

That is exactly the type of thing I wanted to include when picking about how my main character, Azalea, of project Realm was going to enter the new realm that friends are from. Inspiration for the story itself at come from the series of dreams that I've been having. I literally dream in a story. Sometimes that's not a good thing but sometimes it helps me as a writer and as a person. I wanted to create a story where the MC gets thrust into somewhere really different from what they're used to and then figures out of navigate further. The character has been there before but is still learning about it as a place.

Very eager to get the first draft wiped out after already writing it. Then the second draft will be about lengthening. I'm very eager to tell this story because it's a story about a character and getting over their fears, leading a double life that their family doesn't know about, and going on adventures. Project Realm so far has become an incredible project to work on. I'm going with the characters if they're going through their situations.

On the second draft, I will be lengthening the novel further and adding in another perspective to see if it fits better to add the second perspective. If not I might actually just make that into maybe a companion novel told from the second perspective.
