Welcome back Writing with Sprinkle Community!
I'm so excited to jump into another blog post. This time I want to discuss the ever growing book ideas growing and surfacing in the minds of every writer.
Quite often you hear so many people, after finding out your a writer, offer an abundance of ideas for your next project. What they don't realize is there are so many ways to support writer and get enthusiastic about it without bringing on extra stress or unneeded opinions.
We already have so many ideas running through our minds and worlds filling our heads. Or maybe that's just how it is for me. We get entangled by the sheer amount of it and the only real problem is the execution of how to put it on the pages.
It's true that though I see worlds in my mind and get my ideas from the crazy dreams I have, I find a struggle to put it on the page often. It becomes better only after multiple drafts. For myself, the second draft typically seems more cohesive. It makes more sense.
If this sounds familiar drop a comment and let me know how you've struggled.
Find Ideas To Write About
If you're one of the people that struggle to find ideas, THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN.
Need ideas to start flowing? Here's a few things that could help:
▪️Writing prompts. The internet is full of them. It could be so much as a simple Google search.
▪️Read other books. You can read so many incredible books to spark inspiration. Nobody is encouraging plagiarism. That's a terrible thing. You can learn how to write your descriptions better by incorporating the senses, take different tropes, or invert expectations by simply reading the words of others and learning how to improve your writing.
▪️Dream Log. A lot of great inspiration comes from writing down your dreams. It certainly does for me. Make sure to write down your dreams to take pieces from in case you need a fresh idea or to add elements from.
Thank You
Without the support of this amazing Writing Community, I don't know if I could have learned as much as I had. I used to think putting pen on paper with the story in you head was all it took to be a writer. In a way, that's true. But there's so much more to it. Different processes, methods of publication, and so much less of fantasy. Coming to these realizations doesn't change the beautiful dreams we share to get our work to readers but it allows us to look further into our goals and educate ourselves further in what we want.
There's been so many amazing people I've come across as well. I've met some good writers through Instagram discussions and YouTube videos. Writing streams opened me up to new methods of writing, kind people, and newfound determination to find time for what I enjoy.
