Nothing much has inspired me to start writing. I guess I just have always liked it. Ever since I could write I have been writing. Writing stories and in journals. People used to make a huge deal out of it. Most of whom would tease me.
There weren't a lot of people around where I live you actually enjoy writing or reading. Everybody was used to finding their television shows that they would binge or do outdoor activities such as sports. Leaving me to write and have no one to talk to about it. Constantly would people make fun of the book in my hand.
Now I'm finally starting to take notice of other people who actually have the same ideals. As ridiculous as it was I thought that nobody else really appreciated it. But if that were true there wouldn't be any books at all so somebody must enjoy writing them and reading them. I just had to find such people. Not an easy task in my area but I found it quite common online.
Connecting with other writers was a blessing. Connecting with other readers was also blessing. I finally found the people that I fit in quite easily with.
But also was a huge help was discovering book and writing sections of Instagram and YouTube. People have entire social medias dedicated to both. Was a big shock three to four years ago. I still can't believe my luck. The amount of new writers I found on the Internet is astounding. People I can connect with on a level that I never was able to connect with people on before. We can discuss our favorite books and favorite parts of them. Can discuss different types of writing processes. I can even learn more about the writing processes from others and we can share knowledge. Sharing knowledge about a craft that we all enjoy.
Also participated in my first NaNoWriMo Last year in November 2020. Then participated in the to Camp NaNoWriMo events that were going down in April and July. The website is really help with tracking my progress in my writing and keeping me motivated. Work to set aside the time to write hinge and you will be much happier.
Though I have not exactly enough time to write recently, I've made it my priority to come up with more time for that. I've been brainstorming ideas this entire time. I've been writing bits and pieces here and there for as long as I'm getting down words I'm feeling much better about it. So now I am a strong believer that as long as you keep a few words down every once in awhile it's okay. But I like to accomplish more. I'd like to accomplish getting to a more words. I do with what's feasible.
What inspires your writing?
Where do your best writing ideas come from?
Did you ever feel the way I felt before discovering other people who enjoy the same things?
Have you ever had a time to fully allow yourself to write?
Do you have to get any time to yourself at all to do what you enjoy?
Do you participate in camp NaNoWriMo or NaNoWriMo? If so does it help with your progress?
Let me know your thoughts.
